Sailing Yacht Scorpio is a fantastic yacht to charter. She is a fast sailing yacht, yet her spacious accommodation and high levels of equipment make for luxurious living. Built in 1996 at the Fred Shultz Yard in Cape Town, South Africa, Scorpio is a Sovereign 51 designed by Phil Southwell. She accommodates 3 guests in 2 aft cabins, both are extremely well ventilated by a large ceiling hatch to funnel breeze plus opening ports on 3 sides. The larger Guest Double Cabin has a queen sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Guests using the adjacent Single Cabin can share the double cabin facilities or those of the crew off the Saloon. The Saloon is spacious and comfortable. On deck a separate helmsman’s cockpit aft leaves a spacious centre cockpit with table for al fresco dining which offers guests ample space to relax. Scorpio is also fully equipped for scuba diving for certified divers. She is in the Caribbean- Based in Grenadines, West Indies – Summer  May-01-2011 – Dec-14-2011 6,400 USD Week 3 (ex fine-wine / glic/fees/tx / comm / dock / +A/C: $30/nt).

Don’t forget SCORPIO is available for charter throughout the Windward and Leeward islands during the winter season – this, of course included the Virgin Islands and theGrenadines.  If you are unsure about our availability getting from one location to another, the rule of thumb is to allow us 1 week turn-round between the VI’s and the Grenadines (or vice versa) – We are able to do 24hr turn-rounds for consecutive charters in the same location – if you are in any doubt talk to Dick at CharterPort or contact us direct at this e-mail address.

Of course we still offer scuba diving inclusive in our rates.

Charter Rates for “SCORPIO” – Nov 2011

We offer Full-Board and Half-Board charter options:

All charter rates are inclusive of:

• 7 nights/8 days crewed charter aboard “SCORPIO”.  Shorter charter periods will be charged pro-rata but will be subject to an additional premium of 10% of the daily charter rate.
• Snorkelling and Scuba Diving at no additional cost including use of equipment (as per details outlined in this website).  (Use of local dive schools/operators is not included)
• Ships bar – house wine is offered with meals, local beers and soft drinks are available at all times, evening gin and rum cocktails are also offered.
• Pick-up/drop-off from an agreed location where you will be taken to the yacht.
• Yacht delivery to your chosen charter area (within our seasonal cruising areas).

What’s not included:

• Guests travel costs to and from the agreed pick-up/drop-off location.
• Taxes, Cruising Permits and Harbour/Mooring fees.
• Special drinks requirements – eg. vintage wines, champagnes, liqueurs and spirits not normally stocked in the ships bar.  You can detail your requirements in our guest’s pre-charter questionnaire to ensure we have adequate supplies aboard.
• Air conditioning will normally be run in the evening to cool the guest cabin before going to bed, however a charge of $30/night will be made if guests require their cabin air conditioning to be run overnight.
• Gratuities - A gratuity to the crew is customary but at the guests discretion.

Full-Board Weekly Charter Rate - US$ 6,400 (for 2 guests) – an additional $750/wk will be charged for a 3^rrd guest.

A discount of 10% on the weekly charter rate is offered for bookings of 2 weeks or longer excluding Christmas and New Year holidays.

Christmas/New Year Holiday rates are at the full price plus 10%.

Full-Board rates are inclusive of: 

• 7 nights/8 days crewed charter aboard “SCORPIO” including all meals aboard. Please note we ask guests to have at least one evening meal ashore, at their own expense. We will be happy to provide restaurant recommendations and make any reservations required. 

Half-Board Weekly Charter Rate - US$ 5,750 (for 2 guests) – an additional $500/wk will be charged for a 3^rrd guest.

A discount of 10% on the weekly charter rate is offered for bookings of 2 weeks or longer.

Christmas/New Year Holidays are not available at Half-Board rates.

Half-Board rates are inclusive of: 

• 7 nights/8 days crewed charter aboard “SCORPIO” including all breakfasts, 6 lunches and 3 evening meals. All other meals are to be taken ashore, at the guests’ own expense. We will be happy to provide restaurant recommendations and make any reservations required.
